Bio:
Zia was born and raised in a system of black markets with her brother, Alexi. Later in life Alexi gained power over The Black Serpent, but Zia disagreed with that lifestyle, and ran off at the age of sixteen, taking odd jobs wherever she went. She didn't return until three years later, when she heard word about a struggle between the current head of Cairo and a rebel group.
She went back to help, and ended up settling the dispute, forcing both sides to divide the city in half. All remained well until Alexi was assassinated. In fear of being targeted herself, she flees from Cairo, traveling to Alaska to hide until she decided to try looking for somewhere to stay that wasn't so cold.
She traveled down into California, and stopped in Oasis to simply sell a few things and restock on supplies. She later decided to stay after meeting Yuri.
Trivia:
Zia is allergic to a type of spice (coriander). She has an asthmatic reaction to it when ingested,  and it CAN be fatal.
Zia has an artificial hand that she keeps hidden by a leather glove. She dislikes it, and avoids conversation about it.
When people ask why Zia is so short, she always tells a different story.
Zia suffers from major anxiety disorder and paranoia.  She keeps her knife with her wherever she goes, as well as a can of pepper spray. You can find the can in her purse and the knife is hidden in her boot. If Zia has an anxiety attack, she'll usually start hyperventilating OR throw up.
Zia considers Obsidian to be a motherly figure. When her and Obi talk, they often speak in a different language with her to gossip about their family. Or others. Or both.  
ZIA IS VERY SELF CONSCIOUS ABOUT HER COOKING. If she asks you if you want food, say YES. She gets upset when people refuse because she believes said person doesn't like the food. She'll often times trap you at the table and continue to serve you the large amounts of food cooked if you eat with her. Not that there's a problem with that, though.
Zia has a quiet sense of humour. Only really Obsidian and Yuri get what's up with her sense of humour (although Yuri still gets pretty confused).
Zia likes children.
